How has the market in the United States performed versus other major industrial countries?
The table below shows that the movement of the United States market fluctuations are not all that different from the other countries selected. However, none of the years since the 2016 election show the US outperforming the other countries reviewed. Canada, Japan and Germany all exceeded the US in 2019. 2018 was a down year for most of the world due to low oil prices and the uncertainty of Brexit. Germany and Italy outperformed the US in 2017.
